Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create a perfect circle profile picture?
Simply select the "Perfect Circle" mode under the Crop Match settings. The tool will automatically lock the aspect ratio to 1:1 and apply a 50% border radius creating a flawless circle. If your original image is a rectangle, the tool will trim the overflow from the longest edges.
Why do my rounded corners have a black background?
This happens if you export the image as a JPEG! The JPEG format physically does not support transparency. When you cut away the corners of an image, those empty spaces must be filled with a solid color (which defaults to black or white in many viewers). To keep the corners completely transparent, always export as PNG or WebP.
Can I choose which part of the image becomes the circle?
Yes! When you are in "Perfect Circle" mode, instead of just taking the exact center of the photo, you can click and drag inside the live preview. Dragging the image allows you to reposition the circular crop window to perfectly align your subject before exporting.
What is the best aspect ratio to upload?
You can upload an image of any dimensions or aspect ratio! If you use the "Rounded Rectangle" mode, your original aspect ratio is preserved. If you use the "Perfect Circle" mode, having a 1:1 (square) image is ideal so that no parts of the edge have to be trimmed off, but we'll adapt to rectangles just fine!
